I got a 25 on my ACT, and I took an entire course that focused on the ACT. I know certain tricks and tips that can help a student raise their ACT score by 1-2 points. I want to be a tutor because I can sympathize with students struggling with a subject, especially those who may find it embarrassing. I have a lot of genuine patience, and I feel I would be good at making students feel comfortable asking for help. English is definitely my strongest subject, and I enjoy editing papers, and would be more than happy to help a student mature their writing and permanently correct any grammar/punctuation issues they may be struggling with. As stated before, I've taken a semester-long ACT class, I've been taking Honors English classes since middle school, and I took AP history courses in high school. For the remaining 6 months of my previous job, I was promoted to training new employees, which required a lot of learning and memorization on the trainee's part. In a way, it felt a lot like teaching/tutoring.
